Reward shopping with cashback credit cards sounds a really good idea! What is better than shopping (online or offline) and getting rewards for your shopping activities - great deals on purchases and cashback from the credit card company as well!

It seems like a win - win situation. And, of course, reward shopping can be.

Most companies that offer this sort of deal are perfectly respectable ones. However, you need to know what is contained in the terms and conditions of the reward shopping experience before you commit yourself.

Ask yourself:

1. How do these reward shopping programs work? What do you have to do as a consumer to get the best deal or the best reward for yourself?

2. In what form do you get the reward shopping "cashback"? Some companies will give you a refund / rebate / credit on your statement. Others will give you "points" that can be redeemed for goods.

3. What percentage cashback is the company offering? Some offer more than others.

Some companies have specific requirements for their reward shopping cashback offers. Some, for example, will offer a lower percentage reward shopping cashback amount for a spend under a certain level. As you spend more, your percentage cashback can increase. This is understandable, as, if the companies are offering cashback for your reward shopping, then they would like you to spend more! And, as consumers, we don't mind spending more if this means we are going to get more back!

It's all in the psychology.

So, reward shopping cashback credit cards are a great idea. Be careful to read the terms and conditions and be sure that you don't stretch yourself too much.
