Advertising, Physicians Can Help All Patients With These Simple Promotional Products
My mother's refrigerator is covered with magnets. Pictures of grandkids, pizza places, calendars...you name it, and it's on there. It has so many magnets that every night it turns itself so it faces north. The airport commission even asked her to remove a few because the magnetic field was disturbing the instruments in low flying passenger aircraft. (OK...I exaggerated a bit there.)

Though many of the items are common, she has several that are very important. Being 86 years old, she does have some health concerns. One of them is forgetfulness. She forgets birthdays and holidays, but the worst part is that she forgets her doctor appointments. Her physician's office has come up with a method of minimizing the chance of her letting an appointment slip by. They provide a refrigerator magnet to her, which she places in her kitchen. It displays the office phone number as well as emergency numbers and some basic first aid suggestions. She sees the magnet throughout the day and it jogs her memory of the upcoming appointment. The additional information, such as the number to Poison Control and of course, 9-1-1, among others, gives her a quick reference in case of an emergency. In her youth she could have handled most any crisis with ease, but now she can easily become flustered and confused. Having the phone number in a spot that is easy to see and familiar to her could be a lifesaver.
They Give Me Peace of Mind
I truly appreciate her doctor and his staff for giving the magnet to her. If you are a Health Care Provider, I suggest you do the same. Now, when I visit my mother and we sit at her kitchen table and have a piece of her wonderful apple pie, I don't mind having my fork yanked from my hand and fly across the room and attach itself to the layers of magnets on her refrigerator.
