The Death of Anna Nicole Smith

Anna Nicole Smith is dead. Her life was lived at an extraordinary pace, always at the center of media attention. She was a former Playboy playmate, a jeans model, a widow of an octogenarian oil tycoon and reality TV star. She always seemed to be in the spotlight and only seemed to be happy when somebody had something to say about her.

She died in Hollywood FL, at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, she was found by a private nurse, who on finding her called 911, Smiths bodyguard (only one?) administered CPR but she was later declared dead at hospital.

Only a couple of days ago it was reported that she was to be sued by the weight loss company Trimspa, a company that promotes 'magic diet pills'. Smith became the 'Face' of Trimspa back in 2003 and claimed that after a couple of months that she had lost over 30lbs! Later that year she claimed that her weight loss had exceeded 65lbs and when she started appearing on commercials and made TV appearances, the 'magic pills' became the latest weight loss, pill, magic fad. She claimed that she took 6 of the pills per day which was the absolute maximum recommended, but that she also took a 'colon cleanser' and that she had drastically modified her diet. No wonder she lost weight.

And some people still insist that the magic pills work?? Let me ask you this, if you are overweight, did you put on the weight by taking pills?! No of course not.

Anyway back to Anna's untimely death, of course anyone with a heart is going to feel real bad for her baby daughter Dannielyn Hope, at 5 months, she is never going to have any real memories of her Mom, just forced memories when she reads back over her life.

I read somewhere earlier, that a friend of Anna's had warned her that if she didn't get help she was going to die, well after seeing her on a particular televised awards show absolutely off her face, it was never going to take a rocket scientist to work out that it was gonna be sooner rather than later!

At the time of writing, it seems that the cause of death is unknown, but rest assured, the chances of it being linked to some type of substance abuse is about as 'nailed on' as it is possible to be.

In my mind though, there is a positive in her life... She was never afraid to go out and get what she wanted, so many of us live our lives in complete and utter mediocrity, she may have upset a lot of people the way she did things but at least she went out, did what she wanted and lived the way she wanted to live (whether we agree with it or not), for that we admire her.
