Activity in the sense, the central component of globe, we humans have been showing activeness both mentally and physically, which have transformed our globe from a primitive one to an advanced one. Advancement, which is visible in all spheres of our life, as well as in the 'sphere', we live. But, ironically that advancement has a primitive perspective. That is, before the establishment of towns and cities, the concentration of people were in villages, where they lived a different way of life. And now, that way of life is followed by our entire world, showing all the characteristics of a village. So the answer to the question, Is the world really becoming a "global village", is, a big "YES". And this paper will discuss how the cohesiveness, compactness, communication, control and compassion found in a village is being witnessed and replicated in our world, turning it in to a "global village".In a village, the time taken to cover its length and breadth will be kept at a minimum. Minimum because the smallness or compactness of a village will minimize the physical distances, and with one's bare legs one can transverse the entire village. Likewise in our world one can reach every nook and corner of the world quickly, due to the smallness or shrink ness achieved by the advanced transportation structures. And the footprint of man or even a wheel mark of a vehicle can be found on the entire surface of the world. In the era of Concorde flights one could wake up in Tokyo, have a breakfast and business meeting in Hong Kong, have a spicy lunch in Bombay, ski in the Swiss alpine and finally have a sumptuous dinner and good night sleep in London. So, with maximum coverage in minimum possible time, one could travel from country to country, continent to continent like traveling from one narrow street to another street in a village. Another great thing about traveling is seeing and experiencing other people in other cultures, which will bring all of us closer together, like in a village. So, with the advancement of science and technology engineered by human skill, one could be nearer to anywhere and anybody just like in a compressed village.
