Cheating on a significant other is not as uncommon as many people believe. Cheating has become so common that according to the Janus Report on Sexual Behavior 25% of women and 33% of men have cheated on someone they were in a committed relationship with.

A cheating person is usually a creature of habit. If they have cheated in the past there is a higher likelihood that they will cheat in the future. To make matters worse the approach they take to relationships in general is more flamboyant and anything goes. They aren't committed to the principles of faithfulness.

The signs of the cheater:

1.) Cheated in Past Relationships: If you have met them while they were in another committed relationship, or they have cheated in their past relationships, there is a high likelihood they will cheat in this relationship as well. Old habits are hard to break.

2.) Lack of Intimacy: The person who is cheating will often feel bad about it and will natural distance themselves so that they do not hurt their feelings. When a person cheats it doesn't mean that they feel comfortable about it. Therefore a cheater will have more problems with intimacy unrelated to sex.

3.) Not Answering Cell Phones: When a person is cheating they will often not answer their cell phones around you or won't answer your call when around other people. This is often due to trying to minimize the amount of people who know about their relationships. The more people who know about who they are dating the more likely they will get caught.

4.) More Criticism: If your partner begins to criticize you more it may be caused by them losing interest in the relationship. They will say at the time of break up "We were arguing all the time and both of us were miserable". It gives them justification if they get caught because you were the one who "drove them apart".

5.) Isn't Available: Outside of the legitimate reasons for being available you will notice they simple aren't around as much. They come over for shorter periods of time, don't answer their cell phone as often, and seem to be out with their friends more. Chances are they are either trying to find someone else or already have.

6.) Drastic Change in Behavior: If you have been in a relationship for some time and now find your partner acting in significantly different ways it may be a sign of cheating. For example, if she now is busy on Friday nights, is dressing better, argues with you more or starts purchasing things to make themselves look good it may be a sign of unfaithfulness.
