It is hard to come across an article about internet marketing that does not stress the importance of your email list. Time after time you hear the experienced marketers saying, "The money is in the list". I have found this to be true in most cases.

The list they are referring to is not just a list of names and emails. It is a list of names and emails that are interested in what you have to offer. It is important that you build your list the right way from the start. There are several programs that can help you manage your list very easily for a relatively small amount of money. I will leave the program selection up to you but, you will need to do extensive research to find the most suitable program for your business.

Hopefully you will choose a program that automates the entire subscribing process for your visitors. This is the safest way to ensure that the people on your list are interested in what you have to offer. This will greatly limit the number of spam complaints you will receive and, your subscribers will be able to un-subscribe at any time.

You will want to find a program that creates a form for you in order for you to capture leads on your landing page. This is the simplest way to build your list at a reasonable pace. Have a page with a simple welcome message and a form that the user can submit to subscribe to your mailing list. Upon submitting the form the user will be directed to your full site. Your auto responder will automatically send a message to confirm their subscription.

The greatest feature of auto responders is that you can create hundreds of messages to be sent out automatically to your subscribers. The time that each message is sent can be set to "X" number of days after the subscription is confirmed. So your first message will be sent upon confirmation and, you get to determine when they receive the next message. However, you will have to create each message separately.

Spend time creating informative newsletters for your subscribers. No one likes to receive junk in their mailbox. Once your list begins to grow you can begin sending out offers for your products. A subscriber that has been reading your newsletter for a few weeks is more likely to buy from you because he or she trusts your information.
