Of the estimated 380,000 visitors, 219,388 were tourists, up 11.4 percent from a year ago, the Government Statistical Office said.

Other visitors included an estimated 51,060 business visitors, up 6.6 percent on year, and a projected 74,479 people visiting family members, up 51.7 percent from a year earlier. The number of people who visited their families was high because the Lunar New Year holidays fell in February.

China and South Korea remain the top sources of visitors. Arrivals from China numbered 54,748, while South Korea posted 44,722.

The number of visitors from the US was estimated to have risen 5 percent on year to 40,896. The data also estimate that the total number of US visitors in January and February was down 1 percent to 82,436.

In the first two months of this year, Vietnam was estimated to have received 749,017 international visitors, a 11.3 percent rise on year.
