Its thickness - a mere 9.5 mm, makes it one of the slimmest 3G phone and its weight of 71 gm makes it the lightest.
The Sony Ericsson W880i is currently available in two colours - steel silver and flame black. Presence of iconic orange colour in the design schemes of both the solutions -- more on the black one, and the unmistakable Walkman logo reminds its lineage and its music prowess.
This Walkman phone features the same upgraded Walkman player v2.0 as on other high end Walkman phones like W850i and W950i. Rich user interface and ease of creating and sharing playlists, and getting the right sound with the graphical equalizer makes music experience on the Sony Ericsson W880i very pleasurable. Built in memory of 16 Mb is next to nothing when it comes to music so a 1GB memory card is shipped with the standard kit of the Sony Ericsson W880i that can hold about 250 of your favourite mp3.
Backing up its music capabilities is its 2.0 megapixel digital camera with zoom and flash, but no autofocus. Videos can be captured in QCIF format. A separate camera button of the Sony Ericsson W880i makes it very handy to share special moments with those who missed it. A secondary VGA camera is located at the top of the TFT screen that delivers 262k colours. You can make and receive video calls across UMTS network with the Sony Ericsson W880i. Other than 3G, this triband phone also has other modes of data transfer like GPRS and EDGE.
