Easy Chair Millionaire - Just Another Rich Jerk?

Another new affiliate marketing program has appeared in cyberspace -- and the website has the look and feel of another old favorite, The Rich Jerk. But how different is this new guide and, crucially, does it live up to its promises?

Just like the Rich Jerk, the author claims that he is lazy but that he makes a fortune online every day doing very little. And, like the Rich Jerk, he flaunts his riches on his website in the form of an 'executive mansion', cars, travel, expensive holidays etc. And there is a photograph of him with his face blurred out, lounging back smoking a cigar (how impressive is that?)

But unlike the Rich Jerk, Easy Chair Millionaire doesn't abuse his readers by being rude or offensive -- in fact, he tells you that he's not going to insult you, unlike other jerks! That's why the sales page is so effective: it's got all the cheeky chutzpah of the Rich Jerk but without the over-the-top bad-mouthing.

So, what's the product behind Easy Chair Millionaire and does it live up to its promise?

It's a concise, entry-level guide to making money through affiliate marketing. Nothing new about that -- the Internet is thick with this kind of stuff -- but the difference is that it concentrates on the few basics that are really important.

Affiliate marketing has been around since the Internet began, but the scene has changed, and continues to change, at break-neck speed. The number of would-be marketers has exploded, and so has the number of 'experts' staking a claim to teach them how to do it. And while the number of products available for marketers to promote has increased dramatically, the quality of those products has also improved out of all recognition. And, of course, hovering over all of this hectic circus, there is Google -- the search engine and advertising medium of choice -- that sets the ground-rules, changes them often (and without notice), and generally stage-manages the whole spectacle.

This all adds up to a fast-moving, competitive marketplace. More people are buying online, more merchants are creating products for them to buy and more people are acting as middle-men promoters (i.e. affiliate marketers), hoping to cream off easy profits from generous commissions.

For all of this aggressive scenario, there are few barriers to entry to this business. It is the ideal work-at-home opportunity for anyone with a computer and a bit of initiative. But, it is also true that for every one hundred marketers who enter the industry, only one or two will actually succeed in making any money.

This makes it even more important for aspiring Internet entrepreneurs to cut through the garbage and concentrate on the essentials. The Easy Chair Millionaire provides just such an introduction: an up-to-date guide to the essential tools and techniques that that both beginners and intermediates need to master to enter this arena. Each chapter of the guide covers an essential topic with no fluff and no nonsense. Making an income online involves multiple streams of income and this aspect is amply covered, as is selecting the right products, keyword research, pay-per-click advertising and many more tips and tricks besides.

Is Easy Chair Millionaire better than The Rich Jerk? Yes, because it concentrates on one topic (affiliate marketing) in precise and sufficient detail for a newcomer to get started. And it doesn't treat its readers to a lot of misleading hype, inaccurate information and obnoxious verbal abuse!

Is Easy Chair Millionaire worth buying? Definitely. People who succeed at making money on the Internet know that it involves a constant process of education and this book is a valuable start.

Who should buy it? Beginners and anyone else who has tried Internet marketing but has not yet succeeded in making it work.

Recommended action: Buy.
