Top Five Flower Essences for Your Medicine Cabinet

While most medicine cabinets contain things that are fairly common, such as iodine or alcohol, band-aid, thermometer, Ace bandage, hydrogen peroxide, cotton balls, aspirin or Tylenol, etc. - there are a couple of other things that can save your life. You may not even know what they are, which is why I'm writing this article.

Holistic medicine products can also be extremely useful in times of emergency, and for that reason you may want to have in your medicine cabinet:

- a selection of common homeopathic tablets (such as aconite, Rhus tox, arnica, and nux vomica)

- Traumeel(r) ointment for bruises, aches and pains

- Tiger Balm(r) for sore muscles

- a selection of essential oils such as lemon, lavender, and rosemary

But in addition to the above natural healing products, there are five flower essences that all households should have on hand at all times, each for different reasons.

1) Rescue Remedy(r). This flower essence remedy prevents shock and helps restore calmness after something challenging has happened, whether an accident, illness, or bad news.

2) Emergency Trauma Solution (ETS.) There is one formula for humans, and one for animals (in case you have pets.) This formula works immediately to restore your electrical circuits to their normal state if your trauma circuits get triggered. You definitely want a bottle of this not only in your medicine cabinet, but within reach wherever you go!

3) Holly or Willow. Both of these flower essences help you deal with anger - your own, or others; holly is for anger in all its forms, while willow focuses more on resentment (or re-feeling something that happened in the past.)

4) Either Aspen or Mimulus. Both these essences help you deal with situations that make you feel tense or fearful; Aspen is for fear of the unknown, and Mimulus is for fear of something already known.

5) Impatiens. Just like it sounds, to help you cope with life's pressures without feeling impatient with yourself, others, or the circumstance.

Flower essences do not have any fragrance, side effects, or contraindications; they do not interfere with any other diet, medication, or therapies you may be taking; and they are very effective. They come in liquid form, as drops that are usually taken orally several times a day - although they may also be placed on the skin, or in the bath water.

Because there are so many challenges in our modern lives, it pays to have a medicine cabinet stocked not only with the things you already have there - but also with some of the natural remedies and medicines that can help with situations none of the other medicine cabinet contents can do.
