Background checks may help to provide information about who is worth hiring as an employee to prevent any discrepancies in the future. A criminal hired without a background check may create a dilemma in the surroundings he or she is placed in.

While working as a salesman in California at a dealership, murder convict Cleon Jones was arrested. In Salt Lake his parole was revoked for a local arrest, but it was earlier, three months earlier, that officials knew.

On February 15th he was arrested for multiple first degree felonies when a woman had reported that she was raped at gun point by Cleon Jones himself. This took place in her West Valley apartment. The police department had investigated and had beliefs that the salesman had gotten her living area information from the credit report form she had filled out when she purchased the car from the dealership. Also, after further investigation, the police had found out that the woman and Jones had a previous relationship and that the attack was not completely arbitrary.

This now raises the question to many employers: How do criminal background checks provide reliable and beneficial information pertaining to the criminal you might be hiring? By staying up to date with histories and records, criminal background checks provided by the state program are more liable to work well. However, to become foolproof they must constantly communicate with different entities together. This creates a more promising program.
