Many marine activities can be taken advantage of from the convenience of the Costa Teguise. Diving is one of the most popular sports offered by local schools and businesses. Diving is such a sought-after sport on the Costa Teguise and the surrounding areas because of the 300-days of sunshine Lanzarote receives each year.

Divers, whether looking for relaxation or adventure, will find a variety of dive opportunities to fit their mood. Crystal clear blue waters lend the perfect atmosphere to any type of dive you desire. Below the surface of the water is a whole new world. One of the main cultural and tourist centers on Lanzarote is La Villa de Teguise. On Sunday mornings, the village transforms into an open air market with stalls and vendors selling anything from artifacts to homemade breads. Each stall is accompanied by groups of folk singers and dancers in native dress.

The Costa Teguise is a city full of native culture. Many times during the year, you may witness a number of cultural celebrations. Such celebrations include the dance of the devils and the Roman Saturnalias.

Tourists are treated to a parade complete with floats and street musicians. May 3 is the "Day of The Cross," one of the most deeply rooted traditions in all the Canary Islands. On this day, all crosses on the islands are covered with flowers.

The last week of May is Canary Festival Week. On June 1, the young and old of the municipality create carpets of salt directly on the streets in the Corpus Christi Procession.
