If you are sitting down at a desk all day, you need to make sure that your work station whether at your company or your own home office is ergonomically correct. Sure that sounds funny, but it is not so funny when your hands and elbows are numb and you feel like you have arthritis and cannot seem to move them without pain or complete control.

Writers often talk about two main stumbling blocks in their writing; writers cramps and writer's block. One is ergonomically correctable and the other is a mental condition. They both occur most often from fatigue. What can one do who is sitting down writing all day? Try some voice activated software and work along with it. You might find you can even work faster and more efficiently in fact.

Planners and accountants often complain of neck and back pains from sitting all day, as well as the toll it can take on your eyes. You need to consider you sitting positioning and distances from your elbows to your key board and the elevation of your eyes as well. Any truck driver can tell you the toll it takes on your body sitting all day. So make it as comfortable and ergonomically correct as possible.

The EPA website at www.EPA.gov has a whole section for many different occupations to help you with your ergonomics whether you are a computer person, accountant, writer or planner you need to have an ergonomic strategy.
