Being laid off is dramatic and traumatic and not a nice experience. It is easy to get very bitter and angry but if you want to climb out from this you need to develop a more positive approach, here is how.

Being made redundant is not the end of the world, neither are you alone and it can be changed to positive good.

I've been made redundant three times now and each time it was a painful experience it is not nice and I would have preferred not have done it.

But it did work out for the best, because of it, I have my own business, something I had dreamed about but never had the courage to do.

This too could be your solution, it is not as impossible as it may seem at the moment.

Before we get into that though lets get one thing straight you are not alone, there are many more like you, layoffs are happening all round the world, so to succeed you need to stand out from the crowd, there's no point in being defensive.

You need to develop a positive attitude to life and decide that you will not be put down. Yes you can do it and here is how to go about it.

This is the time to be active not to stay in bed till late, get up early, each morning wake up and believe today will be better.

Don't waste the day on non productive chores, have a plan of what your going to do for today and the week ahead, later on I shall give you some clues as to what to do and what the plan can be.

As you go about your day's activities, always expect the best.

Make sure you do not neglect your physical side regular physical exercise helps raise your self-esteem. It improves your immune system and helps in reducing illness. Now we're not talking about many hours in the gym walking briskly for 20 or 30 minutes daily will be a great start.

Stay active become active, be active develop a routine manage your time don't squander it by getting over-involved in time filling work. Inactivity can breed negative thoughts and feelings, layoffs happen we have to rise above them.

Now with this positive attitude to life start looking at alternatives to working for a boss.

Have you ever considered working for yourself or starting your own business? These days it is much easier, after being made redundant three times I decided not to work for a boss any more but to be independent.

It was not an easy choice for me and it wont be any easier for you, but now is the time to do it, sure keep looking for a job but also develop some independence. There are lots of ways to do this and without doubt the skills you have, can be used to your advantage.

First to help you believe in yourself, list down all things that you can do, list all types of jobs you have done, the paid and unpaid, and voluntarily and your hobbies.

You have probably heard how much consultants get paid, in turn you have probably advised people on how to do something quite clever at least it was clever to them but easy to you.

The difference being the consultant gets paid to give advice whereas a normal guy does it for free.

Similarly great play is made about eBay yes you can make a lot of money but you need to know how to go about it.

I have some free advice on both these subjects on my web site.

You will see lots and lots of adverts for showing how you can make a fortune working from home only the good ones give you really free start-up information.

So if you to want to look at working for yourself tread carefully don't spend vast fortunes on packages that offer tens of thousands per week without any effort. If it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is too good to be true.

Instead find guides that get you going free of charge, then if you like what is on offer follow-through and buy their package.

So Focus your thoughts on the future, the past is past and cannot be changed, but in deciding where you want to go in the future, you will increase your chances of getting there. Always aim high, and you too can make it a success.

If you want some free advice and guidance on to ways to work for yourself without spending a fortune then have a look at my web site.

In the comfort of your own home you can then read of exciting ways to develop your own business and only when you feel comfortable with it do you need to do anything more about it.

This could be the big chance you have been waiting for.
