You should usually be searching for new strategies to hook up with your list. Of course, you can send them e-mails thru your autoresponder, but are you trying to hook up with them in any other way? You should be trying to hook up with the people on your list in any way you can. Remember you have to build a relationship with them, before you can monetize your list. One excellent place to try to hook up with your list is on Facebook.
Just think, do you know anybody that hasn't got a facebook account? I don't know many folks that don't have an account on Facebook. It's a very good chance that when anyone joins your list, they are also on Facebook.
What you can do is when someone signs up to your list or joins your newsletter. Use their email to go looking for them on Facebook. If you find them on Facebook, friend them. Send a little message thanking them for visiting your website. Make sure they know that they've got some very cool stuff coming in their e-mail. Anyways, just wanted to hook up with on a new level.
All of a sudden, you become a real person. This is very powerful.
Imagine the effect this would have on you if you join a newsletter, and then you get a friend request from that person on Facebook.
This would make me feel great. That person has gone one additional step to connect and start to know me better. I am all of a sudden not just a name and email on someone's list.
My other tip is to ask questions. Plenty of folk when they become friend with someone will post a thank you note. However , they do not give any rationalization for the individual to reply.
So before you post the thank you note, look at the person info. Ask them a question about something in their info. Or, you can just ask them how their day is going. Many will reply, and it gives you an opportunity to get to know the person better and deepen your relationship with that person.
