Usually historical paintings or a family portrait constitutes wall art. However, homes with small children have accidentally created art on their walls with crayons. The owner selects the wall art, reflecting the personality of the home. Wall art transforms your house into a home. Why?

• the tone and the feel of your room is set by wall art

This is done by using colors, whether pastel shades or bold in different rooms of your home. In a formal dining room, you may use Victorian paintings. Similarly, the playroom may have vivid and colorful artwork or loads of pictures on the wall showing all nuances of children. Having a picture of a retro burger drive-in or a fruit basket is sure to work wonders for your appetite. So, the kitchen may display such food items as wall art.

• memories are strengthened by wall art

Your family milestones depicted in the pictures on your home walls would reflect invaluable memories. For instance, you may have a photo shot of your 5yr old son shaking Donald Duck's wing on that family trip to the Disneyland captured in a 8 x 10 picture. Similarly, your workstation may have a 5 x 7 picture with a big smile of your baby daughter, showing her very first teeth! These photos tend to become a valued reflection of childhood, as your children grow older.

• an inanimate room reflects life with wall art

Different rooms in your home are brought to life by representing nature on the walls. They add to the décor of your home. All regions have their seasonal plants and flowers. You may use them in their natural preserved form or through paintings by artists, like the snow-capped mountains, the summer sunflowers or the fall foliage.
If an orchid garland welcomed you on your vacation to Hawaii, you could preserve it in a frame on the wall of your bedroom.

• meaningless blank spaces are filled by wall art

Wall art adds human touch and a presence of life in your home. Imagine returning home to bare walls at each corner after spending your whole day out in natural and scenic surroundings. The wall art may be a simple and valuable artwork done in school by your child. It need not be an expensive painting from the art gallery that was auctioned. It is primarily your preference that represents wall art. The display of any wall art must essentially define you and the fact that you are where you should belong!
