The handset runs the Cymbal version 9.4 operating system with Nokia S60 5th Edition interface added. Personal information management is provided with the detailed contact information, Calendar, to-do list, clock and calculator among other useful applications for the user to organise their work and social life through their phone.
Email, multimedia and text messages are all edited through a unified editor and all major email protocols are supported along with support for viewing Microsoft Office documents and PDF files. The social networking includes Facebook, Hi5 and MySpace respectively. All of these features allow the user to stay in constant contact with friends and contacts no matter where they are.
The C6 White has a full hTML web browser with touch control through its large TFT touch screen display, along with its slide out full keyboard. The browser provides a visual history for fast reference to previously visited sites, an RSS reader for information feeds from web services and Flash Lite 3.1 to support Flash web applications.
The phone has both integrated GPS and A-GPS receivers which offer location based services through a variety of reinstalled applications. Nokia Maps loader application can be synced with a compatible PC through the phones USB connection, while Ovi Maps comes preinstalled for turn by turn navigation. The handset has a 5 megapixel auto focus camera with an integrated LED flash and automatic geotagging (showing where a photo or video were taken). Photos can be enjoyed back through a cover flow interface using the touch motion to flick between pictures. Images are automatically taken in either portrait or landscape dependent upon the handsets orientation. Landscape photos are taken in 16:9 (widescreen) ratio respectively. The camera records videos at 30 frames per second, while a second QCIF camera is also present for video calling.
The phone also has an impressive music player which sorts music tracks easily for the user to find quickly and enjoy their music, more of which can be downloaded directly to the handset. An FM stereo radio provides further music too.
The Nokia C6 White is an elegant handset providing a large touch screen while still offering fast text input with a well disguised full backlit keyboard behind. It offers a great deal of good software which works well in conjunction with its equally impressive hardware and connectivity.
