The Truth About Skincare Reviews

The first thing that I want to be sure to tell you is that you will not find much in the way of truth in any skincare reviews. You simply cannot gauge whether or not the product being reviewed is the best skincare brand as the reviewers claim. There is a reason for my saying this as you will see.

There is logic behind my claim about these skincare reviews when you consider that all of them are either being conducted by the company that manufactured the chosen product, or the promotion is coming from one of the many licensees that are pushed by the company to sell the product.

The only way that you could possibly discern whether or not something is the best skincare brand is by having it evaluated by an outside party that has nothing to lose or gain by being absolutely honest about whether or not the product is both safe, and effective.

The typical skincare reviews are going to focus on certain "highlights" of the product and one or two of its active ingredients, but that is all of the information that they will give you. They generally will not give you a full breakdown of the ingredients in the product because there are compounds present that they don't want you to know about.

They don't want you to be aware that their self proclaimed best skincare brand uses parabens for preservatives. These chemicals have been linked to increasing your risk of developing breast cancer, and many others. They also are endocrine system disruptors as they have an estrogenic affect on the body.

Instead of relying on skincare reviews to guide us as far as which product that we should buy, we need to take the time to educate ourselves on which are safe, and healthy ingredients to have in your cosmetics, and which are the ones that we should be avoiding. This way we can make our own educated decision about which products that we need.

For starters, the best skincare brand should not contain any chemical ingredients in them, including the popular Botox alternatives. They should also not contain certain organic materials such as petroleum based moisturizers, or bovine or swine derived collagen. These "natural" ingredients will not produce the affect that it is advertised that they will.

Honest skincare reviews will tell you that your product should contain natural plant based moisturizers, plenty of natural antioxidant rich ingredients, and also natural compounds which will provide your skin with a high level of hyaluronic acid. Phytessence Wakame Japanese sea kelp extract is excellent for this purpose.

The best skincare brand will also contain naturally derived protein extracts such as Functional Keratin. Whereas collagen derived from inhuman sources will only provide temporary relief, and then only when injected, Functional Keratin will promote natural collagen growth within the body providing long term changes.

Remember that education is the first step in allowing you to conduct your own personal skincare reviews. Seek out products containing the ingredients that I have mentioned here, and you will be well on the road to healthier, younger looking skin.
