Law of services.--------Leave to employees.

People who are in service can get leave and in most of the organizations, they earn leave by their duty period.  Having leave is not a right with the employee, but since the leave rules have been framed by the state or by the employer, he is bound to consider the application of the employee and if he founds that his prayer or request in right, leave, normally is not refused.

There are so many types of leave available to the employees.  They are earning casual leave, earned leave, half pay leave, they can be granted hospital leave, they can get maternity leave and even husbands can be granted leave to look after their wives when they are in a family way or when they give birth to a child.  We must understand the rules and regulations issued by the competent authority or by the employer governing our service and governing the law on the point of leave and we must know up to what period we can have leave with pay and what are the norms for granting us leave without pay.  some organizations give us leave for going on training which could be useful for the employer or for the organization and during that period, in most of the cases, pay is not given.  The salary we get during our leave period is called leave salary and in case of casual leave, the remains on duty and this pay shall not be called leave salary.

Since leave is not a matter of right, one must submit his application in time and the competent authority shall consider the application and then order of passing or granting leave is passed or the leave could be refused.  The employee may wait for the order and only after the sanction of leave, he should proceed on leave.  The people who leave the duty place without obtaining sanction of the competent authority have committed a misconduct and if the employer so desires, he shall be taking disciplinary action against such erring employee..  Casual leave in case of emergency could be obtained by sending an application, but such facilities should be availed of rarely.  An employee must keep discipline in the organization because the employee has been appointed to carry out the work and when he is absent from duty without information, the employers shall be facing difficulties.
