It has been a short while since we've witnessed any advancement with the cameraphones in terms of their resolution. And as Samsung, with its 10-megapixel SCH-B600 probably still sets claim to be the highest resolution cameraphone at present, the rest imaging devices have remained constant at only 5 megapixels. Hence, with Sony Ericsson's 8.1 megapixel C905, they surely look ready and prepared to uphold its leadership in the battle of the cameraphones.
But of course it won't be smooth sailing for Sony Ericsson since other cameraphone manufacturers would always find means to contend with them. Just to mention we have the Nokia N-Series and Motorola, having to release their own 8-megapixel ‘Alexanda', to match that of Sony Ericsson this October. This would be the exact same time that Sony Ericsson C905 would be launched. Oh well, just bring it on!
Going back to Sony Ericsson C905, this handset might be a little chunky to some people, but it really handles pretty good as a camera. The handset holds a large TFT display, 2.4-inch in size which works best as a viewfinder, and the distinctive slidedown lens cover maintains the back end of the device streamlined. The large shutter button is definitely a plus while capturing pictures too.
To finish up your entire digital imaging experience, C905 is cram full with features that you would usually obtain in most point-and-shoot camera nowadays. The bevy of chic controls onboard the C905 includes face detection, an image stabilizer, red eye reduction, autofocus and smart contrast, this is to maneuver optimum lighting level and also it has PictBridge printing and Xenon flash. The BestPic feature of the handset has also been made better, the LED light could be turned on while you're in BestPic mode. When it comes to video recording, C905 comes with a video LED light and a video stabilizer.
What's truly awesome is that, more are yet to come. Looking inside the amazing imaging features, there's Wi-Fi, an incorporated GPS receiver when navigating and image geo-tagging, Bluetooth stereo, FM radio and USB. The DLNA support allows you to send out pictures from your mobile phone to the television via Wi-Fi, or through using an ITC-60 TV-out cable.
