Initially a few Parsis and Gujarati came but soon a sizeable population began to thrive here.

History of Mumbai: The Great Indian Peninsular Railway facilitated travel within India. This network of commerce and communication led to an accumulation of wealth.

Haji Ali Mosque: This early 18th century shrine contains the tomb of Hazrath Haji Ali, a Muslim Sufi saint. There are two local legends which claim to trace the Hazrath's antecedents.

Mumbai Food & Cuisine: Indian cooking is distinguished by the use of a larger variety of vegetables than many other well-known cuisines. Within these recognizable similarities, there is an enormous variety of local styles.

Mumbai Bollywood: Cinema is India's great social leveler: from the President right down to the cobbler, everyone loves a good film. In fact Mumbai boasts the largest movie industry in the world.
