There are many reasons why the "newbies" entering the world of Internet Marketing fail. Here are just a few of them I think are the most common.


1. Newbies often set unrealistic goals for themselves. Put forth goals for yourself that you can easily attain. By setting and achieving reasonable goals, you build confidence in yourself and your abilities. The most important thing you must ask yourself before starting anything you want to be successful at is... "Are you going to see it through to the end?" Dreaming, and wishing won't get the job done; they are just a starting point. Neither of these will create a physical presence in Internet marketing. It requires planning, determination, effort, and an un-dying will to succeed along with a great deal of time. The learning process is ongoing and constantly changing and you will make mistakes, learn from them and move on. It is these characteristics that you need in order to be successful, remember you must fail to succeed. These are the secret ingredients to being successful in Internet or any kind of marketing, not to mention life itself. You are the only one capable of making and sticking with the decision to succeed.

2. Newbie marketers often lack a unique product. If you want to be really successful in Internet marketing you need a product that you can call your own. Having a unique product allows you to use the power of affiliate marketing. Having hundreds of marketers actively promoting your product or creating joint ventures allows you to multiply your efforts on a huge scale. Trying to compete with established "gurus" and super affiliates to market products already on the Internet can be very tough and discouraging especially for someone who does not have a huge marketing budget or a great amount of contacts.

3. Another very important ongoing effort in Internet marketing requires a big commitment. It doesn't matter what your product is. If you plan on making money selling it, you will need to learn about Internet marketing or just the basics of marketing at the very least. This doesn't mean your product has to be related to Internet marketing. In fact, many suggest you find another niche because there is so much competition in the Internet marketing arena. There are several areas of expertise required, and all have to come together to be successful in Internet marketing.

One of the first things you need to accept is you're not going to become a millionaire overnight, almost everything being sold on Internet marketing hypes becoming an overnight success and that is how those marketers make money. Everybody wants something for nothing and are willing to read a couple hyped articles and buy a couple products, or sign up as an affiliate, build a website and wait for the money to start pouring into their bank accounts and then ultimately quit when this does not happen. That is one of the reasons why 95% of the people working on Internet marketing never succeed.

4. Newbie sometimes gets caught up in the details. It is important that you know what kind of tasks you are good at as there can be so many involved in Internet marketing. Don't make the same mistake that countless other Internet marketers make of trying to do everything yourself. There are places online where you can hire inexpensive help, on a per project basis, to perform the tasks that you are not an expert in.

The point here is that you do what you do best, and you can inexpensively hire others to do the rest. You won't believe how inexpensive it can be and how fast you can put it all together.

5. Newbies starting up in marketing sometimes plan themselves to death without putting forth action. If you want to be a successful Internet marketer, at some point you will have to put a plan into action and follow through.
There are so many Internet marketers who come up with a good idea, formulate a plan and never put that plan into action because they constantly analyze and refine that plan without end.


In conclusion if you can honestly say that you are willing to put forth the effort, have the determination, and the un-dying will to never give up, YOU will find a way to succeed. Internet marketing can be a very profitable area; some even become extremely wealthy. What happens in your case all depends upon you and no one else.
