February is the season of love, so there are many romantic things you can do with your significant other. Each part of Oregon features a new and beautiful landscape around every corner. If you are looking for culture hit the Portland Metro area. Consider the Willamette Valley for historic towns, covered bridges and wineries. Wherever you go you are going to see beautiful scenery and have a great time.

In keeping with the Valentine's Day theme, you may consider visiting Ashland in Southern Oregon. The Oregon Shakespeare Festival kicks off in February and runs through September. The festival is a Tony Award winning event and has been named one of the top five regional theaters in the United States. You will find a variety of classic shows including Romeo & Juliet, The Taming of the Shrew, As You Like It, and The Tempest. Contemporary shows include On the Razzle and Tartuffe. This is a great event if for families and children of all ages as well as couples looking for a special night together.

Oregon's countryside is beautiful whether you find yourself on the coast or in the Mt. Hood/Gorge region. There are several resorts that are excellent for end of winter getaways. Black Butte Ranch is a romantic and rustic getaway. They are located in Central Oregon in Sisters. The ranch is surrounded by the Cascade Peaks and the view from the room windows is awe-inspiring. The ranch features cross-country skiing, snow shoeing, and snowboarding at the nearby Hoodoo Resort. The rooms have warm and cozy fireplaces and The Lodge will fill your tummy with delicious food and drinks.

Located in the Portland Metro, Alameda Brewhouse features homemade made-from-scratch meals and the fine handcrafted ales that are sure to warm you up from a day on the slopes. They feature herbal beers such as Juniper porter and Spring rose Dopplebock. They also have some old English favorites such as English Bitter, Wee Heavy and Pale Ale. For those who prefer wine over beer, you can't go wrong at Apolloni Vineyards in Forest Grove. They feature Italian style whites and traditional Pinot Noirs. This is a family owned vineyard in the north end of the Willamette Valley. They offer complimentary tastings as well as Valentine's specials in February.

Experiencing Oregon is a life changing experience. No matter what area you visit you are sure to find beautiful scenery and amazing events to take part in. There are numerous ways to explore Oregon from driving to biking to trails through the wilderness. The method of exploration is up to you.
