How did you like the Sony Ericsson W800i handset? Well, it might seem to be a queer way of beginning to talk about a handset with some other handset but it becomes essentially important to do so when these two handsets resemble so much and with the realisation that one of them was intended to follow the other, it seems like a sensible ploy. With this, let us move ahead with our discussion.

Sony Ericsson W810i is a Walkman branded mobile phone which is an upgrade to the pre-existing W800i. Frankly speaking, there is not much of a change but for some minor improvements. Technically speaking, Sony Ericsson W810i has more global appeal with the GSM QuadBand technology which enables global roaming as compared to the W800i, integrated with Triband technology. Furthermore, Sony Ericsson W810i is equipped with EDGE to strengthen the connectivity front and multimedia keypad layouts have been given a facelift.

Sony Ericsson W810i comes with a meagre 20 MB shared memory but covers a lot of ground with memory expansion slot which can take the memory up to a rip roaring 2 GB! Audio & video players are capable of playing various formats along with Disc2phone software that lets the Sony Ericsson W810i live up to the moniker 'Walkman'.

Data transfer/connectivity is a powered department despite the omission of 3G and Wi-Fi tools. Sony Ericsson W810i has been equipped with every other tool to facilitate various customer requirements for connectivity and/or data communication in between PC and handset. Talktime of up to 8 h does not need words to explain how effective it is and the fact that it is a 'Walkman' branded phone does not come in its way to offer equally good imaging service. The 2 megapixels camera with autofocus, video and flash testifies the above statement.
