A Brief Insight Into Louvre Museum Paris Guided Tours

Paris' Le Louvre is among the world class museums showcasing the most valuable art collections of different periods by various groups of people. If you're not an art enthusiast but nevertheless interested in art and want to get a deeper understanding of the art on display at the Louvre Museum, then it's highly recommended that you take one of the guided tours offered at the museum.

Guided tours of the Louvre Museum are offered in English daily. The tour last 90 minutes and takes you through some of the most renowned pieces of artwork displayed at the Louvre. Guided tours in English are available between 3 to 5 times a day depending on seasonal demand.

Guided tours require you to pay some fee. Children below 13 can go for free and a discount is offered for ages 13 to 18. Louvre museum tours generally commences on the highlight of the Le Louvre, the glass pyramid which was designed by Im Pei.

Tours are offered on a first come first served basis and can only accommodate 30 people. It is then suggested to arrive earlier at the glass pyramid to get a reservation for the daily guided tour. Apart from human tour guides, Louvre also offers audio guides in six separate languages. It orients you to art collections like an ordinary human guide does. They are also 90-minute tours and audios can be leased on the front desk of Louvre.

The Louvre Museum is open from 9 a.m to 6 p.m from Wednesdays to Mondays and is closed on Tuesdays and holidays. Some areas of the museum are left open until 9.45 in the evening on Mondays. Louvre guards will start checking the areas half an hour before closing and will stop selling tickets quarter an hour before closing.

With a standard ticket, you'll get to see permanent exhibits of the Louvre. You will also be permitted to get in and out of the museum throughout the day, enabling you to go out for fresh air or for lunch. As for temporary exhibits, you would have to pay extra fees to get to see it. Every first Sunday each month, Louvre offers free entrance for all.
