You do not want these levels to get too high else you are going to have some health problem down the road that will make life uncomfortable. You need to go see your doctor and get checked out. These numbers tend to fluctuate. Sometimes they go up and sometimes they go down. Your doctor can make some great suggestions and even put you on medications. While there are tips that will help many people lower these levels, they do not work for everyone. This is why you need to see your doctor to make sure that what you are doing is actually working.

Start eating a diet in high fiber foods. These are normally found in things like grains, fruits, and vegetables. One meal that you might consider eating each day is a bowl of oatmeal with real fruit pieces in it. This is a great way of lower cholesterol levels in your body.

Eat more nuts. Do not get the ones with salt or other flavors on them. Eat the most natural ones that you can find. These can be good for lowering your levels helping you out a bit.

Exercise and have some physical activity. This will help control cholesterol levels and other health issues. You can't skip this step if you want to have the most success. If you are physically able to exercise, you should do this.

Avoid fats in your diet. The worst type of fat is the saturated kind. When you do eat fats, eat the healthier kinds like the fat in avocados. Move to lower fat alternatives of the foods that you already enjoy eating.

Replace sugary sodas with drinks like water and green tea. This will help cut back on calories and give you something that is better for your body.
