Medical Malpractice occurs on a daily basis, whether it is in a life or death situation or prescribing the wrong dosage on a prescription. Whichever be the case, instance of medical malpractice cause much harm to the victim. You might think to yourself, why does medical malpractice occur in the first place, I mean isn't that what medical school and all of those years of training is for. That is very true, and that is actually what I think myself however, humans are full of error. And even though medical professionals have gone through years of training, doctors are still human and humans make mistakes. There is however, a catch 22 to this way of thinking. Yes humans make mistakes, and yes doctors are humans, so thus they make mistakes. But also, that is why doctors have been through these rigorous training programs and yes that is why they make so much money. Therefore doctors are given the credibility that they do and the money that they do because they are not supposed to make mistakes, their jobs are based on this.
So what happens if a doctor does make a mistake to the detriment of a patient causing negative and devastating effects? Well, it is obvious that the doctor or medical institution insuring that doctor should be liable for their mistakes. This is the risk a person makes when deciding to be a doctor. Yes they get paid a lot of money, and yes that are looked up to by society for saving the lives of many. And also yes, they should be liable of they make a mistake. It is that simple, however it is also not that simple. For tell this to the victim of medical malpractice whose doctor mixed up their charts who received and amputation instead of a bunion removal. Chances are that the victim would rather have their leg, or in more serious situations their life, then any sum of money.
Doctors who commit medical malpractice not only are most likely fired and unable to find work in any reputable medical institution. Money is another issue, sure they have malpractice insurance but it does not cover everything for money woes will definitely be an issue for the rest of their life. And yet the doctor will still have their life, limbs, and the rest of their body in working order. Yet on the other hand the victim is not so lucky in this area. The worst-case scenario is one where the victim has lost their life.
The best-case scenario is that the victim has complications due to the negligence on behalf of the doctor who committed the medical malpractice. Either way medical malpractice is a loose loose situation. IF you have experienced medical malpractice contact a medical malpractice lawyer immediately to get the help and support that you deserve. A medical malpractice attorney will discuss your case with you and see if you qualify for compensation.
