A Discussion on Concert Tickets

A concert is one of the best things to do on a night out, but many people do bemoan the cost of concert tickets. As such, there is much discussion on and offline about how to reduce the prices; but the simple truth is that are already ways to get in the gig of choice for cheaper.

The driving force to get the cost of concert tickets down has, in man y respects, been led by the performers themselves. Many artists are beginning to sell tickets only through their own sites for example; reducing third party outlay in the process and passing often considerable savings to fans.

Artists too are looking at reducing the cost of putting a show on. In many cases of course, this is not going to be practical; such is the reliance many of the major performers have on special effects, lights, dancers and the whole production. However, smaller performers or those not in that genre can be more flexible, more intimate, and a lot more low key than they have been before.

A low key show can also be drawn from the cost of bringing the show to the audience in the background too; regards roadies and so forth. Erecting huge sound and light rigs at major stadium costs a lot, as does all the staffing involved; reducing these can also affect lower concert tickets for the fans at large.

Though all these thoughts are practical methods to reduce costs and ultimately bottom line prices of concert tickets, there are many websites that can help with lower prices. A word of caution is needed of course, as regrettably there are many con artists promising much and delivering nothing.

Often a lot safer to use are auction sites. Here again though, caution is needed, as scamsters are known to operate here too, despite improved security from the sites themselves. At the very base level also, users need to be careful. Touting of tickets is still very much an illegal process in many respects, so this needs to be considered if not buying from any authorized source too.

Possibly a better way to deal with such is through swap sites; where concert tickets can be exchanged between like minded individuals. Often, these are swapped for other tickets of course, though swapping for a great many other items is also possible which makes things interesting.

Possibly the best way that concert tickets will be forced down in price is, inevitably, through technology. Already many fans enter a gig through nothing more than a text on their phone; this is speedier entry too, so more benefits than cost alone.

Though it is the cost where the real benefit of course. There are not printing costs needed of course, nothing to design, nothing to produce, distribute and post. However, part of the appeal of a concert is the memories, and a text is not quite so tangible to reflect back on over the years.

When it all boils down however, a concert is ruled by its merits on the night. A memorable one, and everything is great; a load of trash, and everything is bad. And it is this outcome which truly determines the value of concert tickets.
