Why You Should Continue With Article Marketing Despite What The So Called SEO Experts Tell You

I have recently read a report which suggests that article marketing is all but dead. The report states that a flood of poorly written articles has ruined this form of web promotion and has made the practice virtually worthless. Even though there is a lot of trash written each and everyday there is absolutely no way that article marketing is any where near dead. The cream will always rise to the top and as long as you stick to some simple principles a well written article or two will definately benefit your site in the short and long term. Sites such as ezinearticles are in fact very good at weeding out the rubbish as they now have not just one editor but two, checking each article before they accept it.

Let us take an example of just one well written article. In the past, maybe only a few years ago in fact, you could have well expected this article to bring you around ten backward links from the webmasters who decide to re-print the article on their own site, with the link to your website intact. Nowadays you may only obtain three backward links as these webmasters have many more articles to choose from. To be honest who would complain at three one-way backward links pointing to their website from what would take them no more than an hour to write and submit the article? I know who, people who are too lazy or who can not be bothered to write any articles themselves.

If of course you are able to write five articles a week, every week, the amount of one-way backward links pointing to your website would soon add up. Article marketing should of course be only one of a number of ways that people promote their site but it certainly should not be dismissed.

A few things to remember, I personally would not recommend people to include the article on their own website as this could bring into play the duplicate content problem. Only submit the article to a couple of the major article directories unless you are going to change part of the article to make it unique. Do not use private label articles.

At the end of the report I was hit with another product that the author was attempting to sell. I have no doubt that he will be successful in selling a number of these but I will not be buying it. I will stick to writing articles thank you very much as I believe it works.
