Although everyone claims to know about the benefits of drinking water, I think that sometimes people underestimate the benefits that water offers you. The importance of drinking water cannot be overstated as we depend on water for our very lives. We can go for about a month without food, but can only survive for 3 days without water.

Considering that the majority of our body is made up of water, the benefits of drinking water should be obvious. The health of all your organs depends on keeping the body fully hydrated. Failure to do so can result in your organs not functioning efficiently, followed by the organ failure, followed by certain death.

While some people fully understand the importance of drinking water, most of us walk around in at least a partially dehydrated state. If you are just mildly dehydrated that can be easily fixed, but if you allow your body to become acutely dehydrated then it becomes much harder, if not impossible, for even medical professionals to repair the damage.

The lines between the different stages of dehydration are fairly close together and are a little blurred. It is easy for one to slip from mildly dehydrated to moderately dehydrated and from moderately dehydrated into the acute stage. If you have ever witnessed anyone in the acute stages of dehydration, then you will be especially appreciative of the benefits of drinking water.

You simply cannot ignore the importance of drinking water, because your life may depend on it one day. By drinking the daily recommended amount of water you should be fine, but those that live in hotter, humid climates may want to drink more to avoid getting into any serious trouble.

Now that you understand the benefits of drinking water, you have to figure out how to get water that is pure. Tap water contains chemicals and parasites that may cause cancer or some other life threatening illness. This means that tap water is definitely out of the equation, so where do you turn if you want to have water that is truly pure.

The importance of drinking water that contains no chemicals or microscopic parasites in it is something that you can't afford to overlook. Many people turn to bottled water partly because they like the convenience of drinking water on the go, but the bottled water industry is more loosely regulated than wastewater treatment facilities. So you can never be sure of the actual purity.

The best way to enjoy the benefits of drinking water is to only drink water that comes from your water purification unit at home. You can then safely bottle your own water, but just make sure the bottle is BPA Free. If you don't already have a home water purification system, get one, because it is on of the best investments in your health.
