Tricks to grab cheap airfares

These days, everyone seems to be on the prowl for cheap airfares on the internet. Apparently, a certain creed of people, even consider these 'cheap airfares deals' to be a big hoax. In reality, these airline deals have a substantial amount of credibility attached to them, and can prove to be a boon in disguise. Bagging cheap airline deals off the internet is veritably a matter of chance. But, even you can receive the blessings of lady luck, if you keep the following points in mind:

How to search for cheapest deals:
1) Understand how the airlines fix price - the three keywords in fixing ticket price are:

a) Competition: If one airline drops the rates, all eventually end up doing so and vice versa.

b) Demand: If a certain flight is selling well, prices will increase for that particular flight. But, if a flight hardly attracts travelers, fares will instantly drop.

c) Inventory: The airline people divide seats on each flight, and categorize them under several price ranges. They even set aside a small number of discounted seats. So, you need to be 'alert' to track these unbelievably 'cheap airline deals'. Because, usually by the time you trace such deals they are already sold off.

2) Be 'alert' and flexible with regard to your dates - firstly, you really need to keep an eye on the happenings of the travel world, to avail such 'cheap travel deals.' Secondly, try not to be stuck on a particular date(in case it's urgent). Keep your options open, as, a day here or there will hardly make a difference.

Eg: Jan 14th - 3017 Rs.

Jan 15th - 2015 Rs.

3) Book in advance - Plan a trip in such a manner, that you have ample time to search and book cheap deals. To avoid learning this lesson the hard way, start practicing this. If you book 21 days in advance, the deals are going to be drastically cheaper, than if you book at the last moment.

4) Book flights for midweek - The general trend is that flights are more expensive during the weekends, than in between the weeks. So, make an effort to book midweek.

Eg: Sat: 6507 Rs.

Tue: 3413 Rs.

5) Try to book early morning flights - Although, you will have to sacrifice your sweet slumber and face the world at odd timings. But, believe it or not, it will cut down on your travel expenses a lot. The 'red- eye' flights are amazingly cheap and affordable.

6) Avoid holiday dates - to escape pandemonium on airports, as well as, to get the cheapest air fares possible: AVOID HOLIDAY OR FESTIVAL DATES. For eg- dusshera, diwali etc.- the peak season.

7) Check roundtrip price - The roundtrip prices, are frequently cheaper than the one way trip price. So, it's better to keep a track of the roundtrip price, or you may end up paying double the original price.

8) Check at midnights - The possibility of getting cheaper deals heightens at midnight, as most airlines reload the new airfares at night. So turn into a nocturnal to get the ultimate cheapest deals.

9) Use neighboring airports - As said previously, keep all your options open, ad try to settle for cheaper fares available for neighboring airports.

10) Look out for last minute bargains - Sometimes, airlines provide us with last minute bargains. The trick is to grab the opportunity as it comes, and travel easy!

Hope the above tips were helpful in guiding you how to pay least for your travel deals.
