Cai's Controller Wins Annual Cpa Achievement Award
Raleigh, N.C. - Capital Associated Industries (CAI), the largest employers' association in North Carolina, announced today that Nicole Hendren is the winner of this year's annual Outstanding Member in Business and Industry award, which was granted by the North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants (NCACPA).
This award highlights individuals who have represented the profession well, given back to the community and association, and contributed in a significant way to their employer or organization. With over 10,000 members, the NCACPA grants only a handful of awards each year to CPAs in North Carolina who go above and beyond their service.
"It has always been very important for me to serve as a leader in my profession," says Hendren, a CPA and controller for CAI, who has spent the majority of her career in small and medium-sized professional service organizations as a controller. "I have worked with a lot of other CPAs over the years that have helped me develop personally and professionally, and I have them to thank for my achievements."
Each year the association recognizes a CPA who works within the private sector. Nominations are submitted by CPAs throughout the state and the award winner is selected by a group of peers serving on the Member in Business and Industry committee.
Hendren is currently a member of the Financial Literacy Council. She also serves on the NCACPA Triangle Chapter Board and is a current member of its Trends Team. In addition to serving as past president of the Triangle Chapter, she is also past co-chair for the Triangle United Way Wake Youth Community Care Team. Hendren has participated in the CPA ambassador training program through the NCACPA and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
"When you are chosen by your peers you feel an extra sense of accomplishment," adds Hendren. "I look forward to continuing to serve as a leader and give back to the profession."
