Get Organized For Growth

Getting organized is one of those tasks that come naturally to some people, and equally unnaturally to others. I happen to fall into that second category. If you've ever seen pictures of offices where the inbox is piled up high and there are random stacks of things piled up every where then you have a good idea what my desk used to look like.

I say used to because I now keep a very clean desk which is beneficial for many reasons.

All Those Piles Are Using Up Your Available RAM - You may or may not know that the RAM in your computer stands for Random Access Memory. It is basically the amount of information your computer can handle quickly at one time. The same is true for you and I. We only have a limited amount of brain space with which we can actively think about things. For example, you probably have no problem remember a list of two things that you are supposed to do today. However, if I ask you to remember a list of twenty things you are supposed to do today then it might be a problem. As you start to add things to the list, others are forgotten about. When you have all those piles of things on your desk you brain is trying to remember them all and you end up forgetting about important tasks or actions. Those Piles Are Failures - Each piece of paper, or piece of mail, or article you've clipped out, or whatever else you have piled up in that inbox is a small item that you are suppose to do but which has not yet been done. To your brain, this is a little failure. This is why it is depressing to look at a desk that is very messy. Even if you are sure that you like it this way and that despite its appearance you know where everything is your messy desk is affecting you on a sub-conscious level.Create A System For Organization - You goal should be to create and use a system that will effectively deal with anything that hits your inbox as soon as possible. This way it is taken care of and you can stop trying to keep any information in your head. I happen to use a system developed by David Allen called Getting Things Done, but there are several systems out there that can work for you as long as you are disciplined to use them. You Life Will Get Better! - Once you have a system in place to deal with everything that comes on your desk you will find that your life becomes less stressful and you will also be more creative. Once you have an empty inbox, your brain now has all that available RAM to just relax and think of new solutions or new ideas instead of just having to remember all those items that were in all those piles on your desk. So whether it is the beginning of the year, or if you are deciding to draw a line in the sand I would encourage you to get organized and create a system to make sure your desk and your office stay as clean as possible.

Each one of these ideas is critical to your success. It's also a good idea to check out some of the other resources available at mlmachiever.com They have some good articles and resources that cover the basics of building a solid network marketing business.
