Samsung is well known for their slider phones as well as touchscreen phones. They have created some kind of trust among mobile fans about their slider designs and touchscreen phones. Recently they have launched three phones in their F series- F400, F480 and F490 with various useful attributes in the phones. Besides putting some highly acclaimed engineering into their phones they have managed to maintain the designs of the phone perfect for all occasions. The Samsung F400, Samsung F480 and Samsung F490 are all 3G phones with some common features in them. But the F490 is the most sophisticated of the three phones with advanced technology input.

Here is a brief discussion on how the three devices are similar and differ form each other. The Samsung F400 is a dual slider phone with improved music and sound quality because of collaboration with Bang & Olufsen a company known for their audio power.

The triband phone supports on GSM frequencies of 900/1800/1900 and 3G HSDPA 2100 frequency. The 3G enables high speed downloading and uploading. There is a 2.2 TFT screen, phone book entries upto 1000, photo call. The internal memory of the phone is 24 MB with an option of microSD card slot for memory extension. You have EDGE class 10, GPRS class 10, Bluetooth, USB, instant messaging, email, SMS, MMS features in Samsung F400.

The phone is a right choice for its multimedia facilities. There is a 3 MP camera with video shoot and features to give high print quality images. The media player can play MP3, AAC, eACC and WMA files too. You have more over Music recognition, FM radio with RDS, Picture editing, built in hands free.

Samsung F480 on the other hand is a tri band phone with the similar network features of F400. But there is a 2.8 inches screen with touchscreen feature, more internal memory, GPRS and EDGE of class 12 each, 3G HSDPA download speed of 7.2 Mbps, SMS, MMS, EMS, Instant Messaging and Email. The camera of the phone is high sophisticated. You have a 5 MP camera to chill out with auto focus, flash and video shoot. The media player too is advanced and is capable of playing files like H.264/H.263/MPEG4 and MP3/AAC/AAC+ for audio versions. There is Camera face detection system, FM radio with RDS, Document viewer, good battery back up and speaker system to share music with others.

Samsung F490 too is a tri band phone having features similar to F480 with. But the touchscreen is quite big compared to the rest Samsung F400 and F480. Its a 3.3 inches TFT touchscreen. The phone could have been a better shot if there were Wi-Fi facility in the device. The phone has a 5 MP camera with a secondary videocall camera which is not present in the other two models. The rest of multimedia features are similar to F480 thus making it a good gadget for gizmo freaks.

Thus its seen that Samsung F490 proves to be the best among the launches. But according to budget choice all the three are good phones.
