Have you ever noticed that the sites that have the highest SERP are usually these one page sites that are either a salespage or a site that is offering some free report? My original site while having some great information had lousy had lousy SERP. I have now created a new landing page using this free squeeze page generator that another site offered.. My URL and my Title Tag are 2 very different things. My URL is NoSugarCoating while my Title Tag is "FREE Scan and Removal ". My Title Tag is not four separate keywords but instead it is a long tail keyword phrase.

Keywords alone won't create high search engine rankings for your web site. Combining keywords, creating what is known as log tailed keywords, with copy that communicates well and provides good reading for the viewer will boost your rankings for your chosen keyword(s). Your tags and the body of your page become critical elements for your sites success.

In order to get the most targeting traffic for your site you need to have good keywords. If you are offering free dating advice then only using the keyword free will only get you a lot of people looking for almost anything that is free. Free dating will only get you the people that are looking to date for free. But by using the long tail keyword phrase "free dating advice" will get you the people that are specifically looking for advice on dating.

Lets look at another example. What if you had a site that the main subject was classic corvettes from the fifties. The generic keywords are things like car, automobile, and classic cars but these keywords might get you a lot of hits to your site but only a small percentage of them will actually be interested in Fifties era corvettes. Long tailed keywords are what needs to be used in order to get the most target visitors to your site. These customers are the only ones who will be truly interested in the information you provide.

Now besides the keywords of your site there are other factors that will come into play to give you a higher ranking in the SERP's. All the experts say that you domain name is important but I disagree with this because the site that I have that is ranking 3rd in the SERP's has a domain name that by no means has anything to do with the main page. I do only have one subject on the main page though and the page is designed like all those sales pages we see out there.

I was told to have something to offer visitors that they can really use but offer it for free so since I am very knowledgeable about computers and I know how to keep my own systems running at optimum I used this as my main targeted focus. I tell everybody how to speed up their system for free. I then have them fill in their name and email address so that they can have my free report emailed to them.

My main site which is still the same will always remain the same but nowadays a visitor has to subscribe to my free report in order so that they will get the link to the other pages of my site. On certain pages of my main site the products that will be mentioned will be products like do it yourself computer repair and these still have something to do with the main subject of my landing page.

I used to have all four of my niches on my main site but now I have each niche on their own subdomain of my main URL. My marketing Niche has its own subdomain and will only have affiliate products for marketing materials. In the future as I discover new niches each will have their own subdomain off my main URL. The content of each subdomain will be about the the same keywords as my subdomain contains. When I start using sub niches they will be separate pages off the pages of my main niche. An example of this would be having the main site be Corvettes and a sub niche being the Corvette Stingray.

Using this philosophy my site has shown up as number 3 in Google's SERP for my long tailed keyword phrase. My visitors will be a lot more targeted but now a higher percentage will subscribe to my free report and they will become readers of my Jeffrey A.
