Both DirecTV and Dish Network, which happen to be the twoleading providers of satellite TV programming will give you a completesatellite TV system when you sign an extended programming agreement with eitherone of them and it also comes with free installation, so there is no need foryou to bother with your Dish the first time it is installed. This is only a onetime deal though and if you relocate for any reason it is entirely yourresponsibility to have your satellite TV system removed and installed in yournew home.

They will do it foryou as many times as is needed though but they do it for a nominal fee as manytimes as is needed after the first free installation. It's not expensive tohave done though and it is recommended that you leave this job toprofessionals, so you can be assured that the job is done correctly also it canbe dangerous if you have to install the dish on your roof or any other placethat requires a ladder to do the job.

If you are planningon getting up on your roof then there are some rules that you must follow tomake certain that you don't fall. Its not the falling that is the problem thatyou have to worry about, its hitting the ground that can cause all of theproblems for you. If the roof is at all icy and this includes even a lightcoating of frozen mist, don't even attempt to get on it, because the risk ofslipping off is increased immensely by the ice.

You can use a tripod to attach your dish to until the coldweather passes; because once you start to slide on an icy roof you won't beable to stop until you hit the ground. Start by walking around the perimeter ofthe dwelling to select out a place that has a clear unobstructed view of thesouthern sky that the dish can be mounted on. Then go into your attic and seeif you will be able to run your cable to this place you have selected. Take aflash light with you and a stick to swoosh the cob webs away with and you alsomay need a can of wasp spray also.

Don't step throughthe ceiling of your house, or any savings that you anticipated will be lost dueto the damage. Assuming you are able to access the place you have selected tomount your dish from the attic then you can run your cable. Mount you're Dishsolidly, using new hardware that you can get from the hardware store andremember to pre drill your screw holes to avoid splitting any wood. If it is astucco house, or a house that is sided with anything other than wood, make surethat you are drilling into one of the framing members when you attach the dishor it will eventually come loose. Use an exterior cable connector with a rubberboot on it to connect the cable and then use cable clips to secure any loosehanging cable to solid surfaces. You can then use a compass to make the finaladjustments to your dish and then run the cables on the inside of the house.Good luck!
