Salvation Scenarios
Let's begin by admitting that only God knows the heart of anyone. Sure, there are obvious behaviors that would give one an impression of love, hate, kindness, or indifference, but once more the HEART of a person can be covered with layers of junk that hide the true reality. And then we come to the question as to who is SAVED and what is SALVATION anyway?
My religion teachers and my childhood denomination taught me that confessing Jesus as my Lord and Savior before the local church was how one got saved. But, saved from what? Of course the answer was that I was saved from the firey hell where Satan stuck a pitch fork into people just for fun in case the fire wasn't hot enough.
I no longer believe that.
When we leave this life and enter back into the spirit world from whence we came, we'll ALL see the marvelous and incomprhensible LOVE of God that "this life" hides from us. So, in essence, everyone (as in ALL) will be SAVED when we return to home base. But let's deal with the concept of salvation in this third dimensional world that we live in and think is so real.
Hell stands guard at the gates of heaven (I'm speaking symbolically of course) and is our last stage of being cleaned up before remembering all that we had once forgot.
Salvation as I see it now is simply a remembering of who we are and where we came from, and then living as such. It's a transformation from the egoic physical world into a Oneness understanding that causes us to LOVE everyone because God is love. We no longer feel that we have to get even with those who do us wrong simply because we see God doing that in the Bible.
We no longer hate people because we've read stoires about how God hated (can you say Esau). We no longer go to war and kill people because God did. Those were all viewpoints that people who lived 2-3,500 years ago had. Surely we see things (can you say God) differently, especially since Jesus lived a life and said, "Follow me".
