Now Hear This - Ear Infections Don't Need Antibiotics!

Homeopathy is the single most efficacious method of treating ear infections. It has been used by homeopathic physicians and mothers for nearly 2oo years. In fact, more moms come to homeopathy via their child's problems with ear pain than through any other illness. Why is this? Because homeopathy has a record of healing the pain, discharge and subsequent ear problems in the most gentle way.

One of the criticisms of homeopathy is that although it has the powerful ability to heal, it can be difficult to determine which remedy is correct. Not so with ear infections and their accompanying pains. There are generally two main remedies for the use with otitis media: Belladonna and Chamomilla. We'll cover them in this article. Each has its own corresponding cluster of symptoms so that it is an easy match. If, however, you find this still to not work, contact an experienced homeopath. Many work on the phone for such a problem.
The homeopathic remedy, Belladonna, is the premiere ear infection remedy. The pathology is ushered in quickly and with great gusto. In other words, the child appears well one moment and in the next, he is in excruciating pain. The outer ear, as well as the inside, are often red and can be swollen if peered at through an otoscope. The infection is accompanied by a fever, which is not of a mild nature either. It is generally high, often registering 103-105 degrees. The child may be delusional with fever, cross and thrashing or simply in extreme pain. This is when the well advised mom should administer Belladonna 30 every 15 to 30 minutes. Often the child will fall deeply to sleep after a few doses. This is an indication that the correct remedy has been chosen. If the child awakens with the same symptoms as before, administration should ensue again.

The next remedy to consider is Pulsatilla 30 . This remedy covers the pain of a child who doesn't have as high a temperate or as extreme of pain. In other words, the illness is tempered in comparison to Belladonna. This child is characterized by lack of thirst and a great desire to be held and loved. The more comfort offered, the better the child feels. If she (I say she because it is more often a remedy for females) isn't given the affection she craves, she may become irritable and demanding. Oddly enough, this little girl can come down with an ear infection after indulging in ice cream within the last few days. This would not be uncommon for such a child as she craves sweet, creamy foods such as ice cream, cheese, peanut butter and the like.

We can hand our children antibiotics for ear pain and discharge. But is the price worth the value? I think not. Antibiotics are of questionable safety and should your child need them for a truly serious illness, they will have los their ability to kill infections. Instead, if a mom can learn a little homeopathy to be used on her own, she will find that the rewards are numerous. As a mother myself who wholly depended on homeopathy for the care of my three children and as a homeopathic practitioner, I urge all mothers to begin their study of some of the simple methods of cure for their own children. Consider my CD's, books and phone seminars designed with mothers in mind. Then, the next time your little one comes to you with a plea for help, you'll be prepared with the correct arsenal of information and homeopathic remedies. From one mother to another… I wish the best for the health and care of your family.
