Do you want to discover easy ways to really lose weight and keep it off? Without having to go hungry or trying to keep on an impossible diet! Well, here are 10 simple tips to start you off...

1. Don't Be In A Hurry To Lose The Weight
Crash diets that work quickly only lead to more weight again. It's called yo-yo dieting and never has long term results. Slow weight loss of 1 or 2 pounds a week is healthier and much more likely to be permanent.

2. Cut Out Refined Carbohydrates And Sugar
Eating these makes you want more of them. Cutting down on them or better still, cutting them out, makes you actually less hungry.

3. Don't Eat After Dinner
If you can resist eating after dinner it can make a big difference. It is best not to have a late meal either. Ideally not eating after 7pm will help your weight loss. If you "get the munchies" and find it hard to resist, have a drink instead. Make sure it is without sugar, such as tea, coffee or sugar free cocoa. Better still, try a peppermint. The strong flavor stops you wanting anything else.

4. Drink Lots Of Water
Often when we think we are hungry we are actually thirsty. Water also fills you up and makes you less likely to need to eat that snack you were thinking about.

5. Eat Protein At Every Meal
Protein satisfies you for longer and helps you want less at the next meal. Researchers have found diets higher in protein and with moderate carbohydrates plus regular exercise do help long term weight loss. Eating several mini meals ( 4 to 5 a day) helps too. If you can include protein, like nuts for example, as parts of these it can make a big difference. Be careful though that they are MINI MEALS, so divide your daily calories into these mini meals.

6. Exchange Pasta For Vegetables
Here are those refined carbs again. If you eat more veges and less pasta or bread it will slowly reduce that waistline.

7. Get Active
Getting more physically active helps weight loss. You don't have to spend hours in a gym. Any regular exercise helps. Ideally at least 30 minutes, 5 days a week will make a difference. Not only will you control your weight better, you will also feel better, sleep better and find you have more energy.

8. Make Sure You Really Are Hungry
Being hungry is your body's way of telling you you need fuel. More often than not we aren't hungry at all. Most of us eat for pychological reasons too. We want to eat when we are stressed, sad, even happy. Try and get in touch with your real feelings and find another way to relieve those feelings. Try a long walk, a cup of tea, a relaxing bath or a chat with a friend. Best of all, get busy and keep out of the kitchen until your feelings have changed, and they will!

9. Plan Carefully What Is In Your Kitchen
Stock up with healthy options. Get rid of unhealthy high calorie foods. Dieting doesn't mean you can't have a treat now and again. Trying to totally cut out things you love only makes you give up, more often than not. However if you don't have these treats readily available but have to plan to go out and get them, you are more likely to remain in control of how often you eat these foods. You can also choose to buy smaller portions.

10. Don't Give Up
It will take time and there will be ups and downs in your weight. Keep focused on the long term goal. Don't panic when you have to eat out, dine with friends or celebrate a special occasion. Just try and make the best food choices, have an entree instead of a main course. Choose dishes with lots of vegetables instead of ones with rich sauces. Go for the protein option. Again, a good steak is better than a pasta dish. To achieve real and permanent weight loss it does take commitment and time. Diets are not the way to do this. Usually they involve restricting your intake and choices so much, it is impossible to stay on them. The real solution is to make small but beneficial changes in your eating habits combined with more physical exercise. Then you will begin to see results that last. Decide to take action. Get good advice, get started and begin to see a new you!
