New Year Resolution: In the Beginning God
You may have many problems
But I have the solution
"In the beginning God..."
Genesis 1:1 says it all
Believe and stand tall
Forget the pain of the past
Embrace forgiveness and faith
By which you will not fall
To you the Creator does call
Saying, "Where are you?"
Hide no more
Allow God Almighty
To open opportunity's door
In the past alone you've failed
But now you shall score
As you welcome the Savior
Pray and believe for more
Replace pride with humility
Let go of stress and anxiety
Welcome the Creator and creativity
Your present reality
Need not be your ultimate destiny
For your Maker can make you anew
Turn all gray skies lovely blue
Feed your heart faith stew
By His Spirit grip and lead you
Into all you must be and do
To enter your personal inheritance
Overthrowing all fear and hesitance
Enabling you to tap and access your brilliance
Removing arrogance and rebellious defiance
Taking you beyond self-reliance
Into something extraordinary and glorious
Indeed it is a new day
When you yield and get out of the way
Wholeheartedly allow God to lead you each day
Harnessing your flesh, altering what you say
Directing what you do, making life brand new
Together you and God, just the two of you
Let God become your best Friend
He will be faithful to you until the end
To intimidation and persecution don't bow or bend
To the devil, your time don't any more lend
Focus now full force
Sin's deadly seduction boldly divorce
Make God in heaven your chief Resource.
This New Year's resolution
Will revolutionize you
Be a human being, get beyond what you do
Awake to the necessity of the crucifixion
So self can die and you can experience a resurrection
Maximize and leverage divine relationship
Knowing God will both empower and equip
Hold your hand so you don't slip
Remember it's not what you know
It's who you know
Therefore invite Jesus into your heart
From this unconditional love never depart
You were made in God's image a work of art
This New Year begin with God, the best start!
