Hide Your Real Age

We all know that protecting ourselves from the sun is the number one thing you can do to prevent wrinkles.  We live in a culture obsessed with looking young so people will even go to the extreme of surgery to get that smooth radiant skin.  Others less daring, but nevertheless just as determined will try botox injections, chemical peels, dermal fillers and not to mention the dozens of topical creams and lotions on the market today.

Skin is your largest organ - proper nutrition can make a huge difference in how you look and feel.  Like they say, what we put into our bodies and do to ourselves in our 20's and 30's will catch up to us in our 40's and 50's.   Instead of getting that sun kissed look from the sun, you can achieve the same healthy glow by eating cantaloupe, apricots, carrots, sweet potatoes, spinach, fruit and vegetables with a deep green, yellow, orange, and red color tone.

As a general rule, drink about a half a gallon of water a day to hydrate the skin.  Green tea, canola oil, walnuts, turkey, tuna, blackberries, blueberries, strawberries, and plums all contain ant-aging properties to help your skin look radiant.  Studies are limited, but researchers do know that the same vitamins that protect the skin also provide many benefits for the eyes, teeth, nails, bones, and circulatory system.  Studies show that fair skinned people benefit from a diet rich in carotenoids for sufficient UV protection.  It also contributes to healthy skin color.

Typically, those who regularly eat veggies, beans, olive oil, nuts, and multi-grain breads are less likely to wrinkle than those who consume an abundance of red meat, butter, and sugary foods.  Antioxidants with vitamin A, C, and E, zinc and selenium reduce the amount of freed radicals produced by skin cells.  Supplements that include a combination of these vitamins help protect the skin from aging due to UV exposure.  Take of your skin, it will thank you later!
