Flax Seed-A Super Food You Need To Know About

Flax seeds are virtually unknown by many, yet may be one of the most complete and beneficial foods you can add to your diet.

Bold statement I know.

There is a certain way they must be consumed though, otherwise you will miss out on the many, many healing and anti-aging benefits of Flax seed. And don't worry, you won't have to munch down the seeds (nor will you want to when you are done reading this).

Flax seeds are rich in Omega-3 essential fatty acids, magnesium, potassium, and zinc. They are also a good source of the essential B vitamins.

They contain high levels of ALA (alpha-linoeic acid) which is the same essential fatty acid that exists in fish oil that is proven to reduce inflammation in your body, the major cause of aging and many age related illnesses. It also supports heart health.

Flax seeds are high in protein. They also contain lignans which is a powerful antioxidant and can have a calming or balancing effect on your body's hormone levels.

...Thats good stuff.

Flax seeds are very rich in both soluble AND insoluble fiber. Fiber is known to support normal functioning of the entire digestive system.

Finally, if thats not enough, Flax seeds have been found to lower cholesterol and triglyceride levels, and to help reduce the hardening effects of cholesterol on your arteries and cell membranes.

This may be one of the most complete and overlooked food sources I know of. Hence the term 'Super Food.'

Now, before you go out and buy a bag of Flax seeds and swallow them down listen up...

Flax seeds in their 'whole seed' form are unable to deliver the many benefits I have laid out for you above since they are essentially still shelled. They must be broken down or in oil form (Flax seed Oil) for your body to make use of the nutrients.

Critical point.

The Solution...

Make sure the Flax seeds you buy are organic and are sliced not crushed. Many Flax seed products on the market today are crushed. Or make sure you use Flax seed Oil. As I mentioned above, whole Flax seeds are basically shelled and do not allow many of the nutrients into the body.

It would be like eating a peanut still in its shell. You would miss out on many of the important nutrients on the inside. When they are crushed, many of the valuable nutrients are lost due to oxidation.

Try to find a high quality organic Flax seed product. One that uses a proprietary process to clean the Flax seeds AND finely slice (not crush) the Flax seeds so that all the many nutrients mentioned above are absorbed by your body.

The Flax seed is in powder form at this point and can be mixed with water or juice and can also be added to food such as cereal, baked goods, salads, soups, etc.

I personally add two tablespoons of Flax seed powder to my cereal or protein shakes each day. It actually has a very subtle, nutty taste to it. You hardly even know its there.

Try Organic Flax Seed Oil as well which is just as effective, if not more effective, than the sliced, powder version.

Try adding this complete 'Super Food' to your diet ASAP and reap the powerful anti-inflammatory and anti-aging benefits.

You won't be disappointed. I know I'm not.
