Want to sit in coach for that cross-country flight, battling over the armrest and the overweight person sitting next to you? Crawling across two people when you are stuck with a window seat? First class is convenient but expensive. Both ways of flying have their plusses and minuses, but you need to consider both of them, especially if your flight is a long one.

True, flying coach is much less expensive, but it comes at a price. First, you have to deal with sitting next to people who want to talk your ear off when all you want to do is prepare for business at your destination. There's little room for a laptop and paperwork, but if you are flying across the world, you are wasting valuable time if you can't get your work done. It comes down to cost and efficiency.

Flying charter is expensive, but you can bring your family or business associates who have room to spread around while you get you day's work done. Flying doesn't always mean you get a day off and there's nothing like having room to spread out on your private jet. Many companies offer this option and it's worth looking into.

Also, remember how expensive it is to book commercial flights for a number of people, including family and business associates. You want to sit near them, but most airlines make everyone line up and find their own seat without having one reserved. You also don't have to worry about delays by flying charter. It all comes down to how much your time is worth.

It's so much easier to go into a meeting somewhere on the other side of the country well rested and prepared by traveling by charter. You can waste hours of your life and business career simply waiting at the airport. It might cost some extra money, but flying by charter will make you a much more rested business person and will have you feeling ready to get the job done.
