When it comes to the human body, there are always certain problems that we have to look for, especially as we get older. Of course the heart is one thing that should be at the top of our priority list. The heart gives us life, pumping needed blood throughout the body, and if there are problems with this important part of our system, it could lead to serious consequences.

There are many things that can cause the heart to have issues. Different types of genetic diseases, abnormalities in the heart, and lifestyles are all things that can contribute to heart problems. Many times our heart problems can be solved with just a change of lifestyle and medication, but first we have to recognize the signs.

There are the times when the heart lets us know it has problems by the way of symptoms. In many cases people ignore theses symptoms and do not understand their body is trying to give them a warning. Not heeding the signs of heart trouble can be deadly when these warning signs are continually ignored.

Some of the symptoms of a heart attack can include chest pain which can be severe to moderate, palpitations, sweats, nausea, and weakness. Many people who find they are having a heart attack will also have pain radiating from their chest to their left arm and shoulder. If these symptoms are present, the person needs medical attention immediately and should call 911. Calling 911 is better than trying to drive to the hospital. Ambulances all have equipment to treat heart attack victims, so the moment they arrive you will begin getting the needed care, and in the case of a heart attack, minutes count. Also, if you arrive at the hospital in an ambulance, you will get faster medical attention.

There are many people who have heart problems who don't feel they really have a problem. The symptoms are not as severe as a full fledged attack, so they very often just think it is indigestion or some other minor health issue and don't seek medical help. Some of the signs of heart trouble include sweating, rapid heartbeat, nausea, weakness, faintness, heartburn, pulling in chest, shortness of breath, chest pain, tiredness, and anxiety. These symptoms can vary from time to time and often appear at different intervals during the day or night. Some symptoms may be more severe than others.

If you have any of these signs of heart trouble it is time to consult a physician. If the symptoms are severe, immediate medical attention is warranted. Any time you experience chest pain, you should always go straight to the hospital. Some symptoms may come and go but it is always best not to ignore them. If you ever need to go the the hospital emergency room, have a list of your symptoms with you. If you go to your physician's office be sure and relate to him all the symptoms you are experiencing. This will make it a lot easier for him to diagnose your case and take whatever actions are necessary.

If you have any of the above symptoms, don't hesitate too long in seeking medical attention. Yes, it could possibly be something else, but if you are wrong, the wasted minutes could mean the difference between life and death.
