Bridesmaids play a major role at weddings and it falls to the bride to make sure they look beautiful and complement the bride's outfit perfectly on her wedding day. Selecting your Bridesmaids Jewellery can often prove a tricky part of this process so here are our top tips when it comes to choosing your Bridesmaids Jewellery.

1. Don't even think about your Bridesmaids Jewellery until you have chosen their dresses. Their dresses will influence the style of their jewellery and you don't want to spend money on beautiful sets of jewellery, which don't go with their dresses.

2. Set yourself a budget for your Bridesmaids Jewellery but always allow a 10% leeway over your budget just in case you see the perfect pieces which are a little over budget.

3. Find out early on if all your bridesmaids have pierced ears and check if any of them have any allergies to jewellery. Some girls can only wear silver or gold and you don't want to risk your bridesmaids coming up in a big red rash on your special day

4. Decide early on in the process whether or not you are going to involve your bridesmaids in the process of selecting their Bridesmaids Jewellery. You could ask them to help you find their jewellery or ask them to choose and buy their own jewellery. The latter option if good for brides on a tight budget as it will save you money but it may lead to problems if your bridesmaids all have very different tastes and ideas. If you do go for this option, we would recommend giving your bridesmaids an idea of the kind of thing you would like them to wear, e.g. plain silver or just ivory pearls for example.

5. Bridesmaids Jewellery if often at the bottom of your wedding to-do-list and is left to the last minute. This could mean you have very little choice and you might not be able to find the pieces you would like. It will also add to your stress, which is not a good thing! We would recommend you leave yourself plenty of time for this task and would suggest at least a couple of weeks of searching if your timescale permits. Finding the right Bridesmaids Jewellery to finish your bridesmaids' look to perfection can often take a lot longer than expected.

6. Colour? Don't think that you have to choose Bridesmaids Jewellery, which matches the exact colour of your bridesmaids' dresses. This is often impossible anyway given the vast array of dress colours available today. For a contemporary look, why not pick a colour, which contrasts with the colour of their dresses. For example, if you have got hot pink or dusky pink dresses, green jewellery will look stunning and if you have gone for chocolate brown dresses, pale blue jewellery will look sensational.

7. With many brides these days having three or more bridesmaids, buying each of them a set of Bridesmaids Jewellery can be expensive. Jewellery is a traditional gift from the bride and groom to the bridesmaids and to help with the budget, we recommend that our brides give their bridesmaids their Bridesmaids Jewellery as a thank you gift on the morning of the wedding. It will allow for some special moments with your bridesmaids and it also means that you don't have to buy both their Bridesmaids Jewellery and a separate thank you gift. If you do decide to do this but still want to give them something during the speeches, we would recommend buying or making each of your bridesmaids a card and writing a special individual message in each one. You can decorate the envelopes with a pretty ribbon or a paper flower to match your wedding theme and make them look extra special.

8. Remember that your bridesmaids are individuals and they are often different shapes and sizes. One particular necklace might not suit them all and they might not all have pierced ears. If they are all wearing the same dress, it's a lovely touch to give them all a different piece of Bridesmaids Jewellery. You could still stick to the same theme if you like, e.g. pearls, but you could give one a pair of statement pearl drop earrings while you could give another an elaborate pearl hair grip. Your bridesmaids might appreciate not being treated like a pack!

9. Don't forget your flower girls! If you are having any little flower girls you don't want them to feel left out when your grown-up bridesmaids are being given their Bridesmaids Jewellery. There are lots of beautiful wedding accessories on the market today for little ones. Fairy wings and wands are always popular. Or why not give them a beautiful hair band or hairgrip. Make sure that these are made especially with little girls in mind or you could find that they just slip right out of their hair.

10. And finally - look for Bridesmaids Jewellery, which comes, beautifully gift-wrapped and gift-boxed. This will be one less thing for you to do before your big day!
