The Peanuts Christmas DVD contains two Peanuts Christmas classics that loyal fans have loved for generations. A Charlie Brown Christmas was the first Peanuts special, followed by Its Christmastime Again, Charlie Brown.

A Charlie Brown Christmas shows Charlie Brown not understanding the holiday because hes irritated by the commercialization and selfishness that is seeming to surround his holiday season. The real comic relief throughout the Peanuts Christmas DVD is Snoopy, who tries to win a Christmas lights decorating contest. Sally sends a letter to Santa that asks for $10 and $20 bills, and Charlie Brown goes to see Lucy the psychologist who suggests that he should be in charge of the Christmas play. In the Peanuts Christmas DVD, he goes in search of a Christmas tree and finds the now famously iconic sickly tree with falling needles. Naturally, it goes over very badly when he brings it to the gang. Linus reveals what Christmas is about, and eventually the gang warms up to the tree, decorating it as best they can for the Peanuts Christmas DVD. The special won an Emmy and a Peabody award.

Its Christmastime Again, Charlie Brown premiered in 1992. It brings the Peanuts Christmas DVD to the life of the holiday using storylines from the comic strip. Charlie Brown goes door to door selling wreaths to make some money to buy a girl he likes a Christmas gift. Sally works on a theme on what the true meaning of Christmas is, which is a bit of an echo from the first Christmas special that is included in the Peanuts Christmas DVD. Like the first special of the Peanuts Christmas DVD, there is a Christmas play, but this time it is actually presented and performed.

Extras in the Peanuts Christmas DVD include the all new A Christmas Miracle: The Making of A Charlie Brown Christmas, which provides background information of the shows creation by the people who were involved with it, and also with some historians that provide information. Also in the Peanuts Christmas DVD is a six song sampler CD from the first Christmas special on DVD soundtrack. However, for unknown reasons, the 2001 documentary entitled The Making of A Charlie Brown Christmas is not included in the Peanuts Christmas DVD.

The featured specials in Peanuts Christmas DVD make the entire set worth owning. They are important holiday traditions to those of us who grew up watching the many Charlie Brown specials in the television generation. Being able to own the Peanuts Christmas DVD will enable fans of all ages to watch the Peanuts anytime they want, no matter what the holiday is at the time. The Peanuts Christmas DVD is truly a masterpiece of good, classic animation that any Peanuts fan will treasure for every holiday to come.
