TV broadcasting is a very old concept but is always counted as one of the significant scientific achievements. With its advent, it enhanced communication facility as television is not just the source of entertainment but also knowledge. Also it has helped greatly in the commercial field as it has enabled the communication between organizations and the general masses through advertisements. Moreover people can update themselves with the happenings all around the globe through news channels. This was also possible through news papers but a visual form is always has a stronger impact than a written or audio form. In TV broadcasting, certain problems arise due to the curved earth's surface. However with the passing of time and development of scientific technology satellite TV was brought in. Since the satellites are located high up towards the sky, there is a scope of increase in the extent of the coverage. The satellite TV is able to transmit and receive the signals of radio through satellite dishes, the function of which is based on specialized antennas.

The use of Satellite TV broadcasting started in the 1990s. However, at a time when dishes were considered as costly metal components and took large amount of space, only avid TV fans thought of getting these services due to the huge expense and troubleshooting problems. However, with the changes in technology, it has come into the reach of common people. Nowadays, satellite broadcasting is seen as an excellent option, as it provides and extensive array of channels and associates services from all over the world to any regions. Moreover, the boon of internet TV has made this technology even more desired one.

Satellite TV transmission is carried through communication satellites which are located about 37000 kms above surface of earth. A Broadcasting antenna with an uplink facility is essential for the working of a satellite TV. The television uplink satellite dishes posses a wide diameter and are placed in a direction of the satellite to which the signals are transmitted. This wide diameter assists the dish to be placed in the appropriate position and share proper signals to and from the satellite. Satellite signals are re transmitted to the earth with the help of transponders with different frequencies.

There is not much difference between Satellite TV broadcasting and transmission of broadcast TV. Satellite TV helps in transmitting TV programs direct to homes and so unlike broadcast TV, there is no problem of range or coverage, as well as the images are clear and signals are not interrupted.

Thus, it is very clear that advancement of scientific technology has led to enhancement of communication facilities and facilities to update yourself with knowledge.
