I was already convinced of taking some positive steps to improve the quality of the water I use for drinking, showering and washing. But, I was  at a bit of a crossroads in my decision making process. I was looking at drinking water systems and a drinking water purification system, so are there any differences I thought. This article will discuss if there are any that truly matter and what are some of the most important features to look out for.

Let's face it they both do pretty much the same things, that is to cleanse the water before you use it for drinking or for use within the house. They do this by utilizing a filter of some kind, mostly one that has a carbon based element inside it. When making detailed comparisons it's good to know about the expected quantity of water each filter treats before a replacement is required, the cost of each water filter and the ease of changing it. After all, if we can do it all ourselves the cost savings are even greater in the long term.

Let's also inject a note of caution here. While a lot of what is written about a product in the sales literature can look convincing to the untrained eye, we ought to consider this. What I personally find to be further proof of the effectiveness and credibility of the information put in front of me is whether such systems have been tested or certified by a recognized and independent body. They all have a set of standards against which each system can be somehow rated and the good brands can be discovered by employing some simple homework.

Some other differences that I will only highlight here are such things as the warranty period on offer, the ease of installing it and crucially where about inside your home. So, choosing between drinking water systems or a drinking water purification system is not as important as making the correct choice of wanting to improve your water quality.
