When you are looking for new bedding you will usually not only be looking for something practical but also something stylish. It may mean you searching through catalogues, websites, shops or markets to find something that will fit in with exactly what you want. If you do spend a bit of time looking for the right product then when you eventually purchase it, you are going to want it to last for some time. For this reason you should make sure that you look after your new duvet cover to keep it looking its best for as long as possible. We have supplied a number of tips for you to follow to enable you to keep your bedding in top condition.

The main area where your sheets can lose their colour or when they can be damaged is when you are washing them. If you take the time to wash them properly then you should find that they last much longer. The first point to make is that you should always make sure you adhere to the washing guidelines. If the label says to wash at 40 degrees then make sure you do so, likewise if it says not to tumble dry then don't stick it in the dryer! It is fairly common sense but the number of people who don't follow these simple instructions and then wonder why their laundry is ruined is ridiculous.

If you spill anything onto your quilt then make sure that it is dealt with immediately. If you end up leaving it to deal with later then the stain will have time to settle and will be much harder to get out. Spillages that are cleaned straight away will usually come out pretty easily so you will not be left with any garish marks. Another thing you should avoid is letting your pets onto your bed. Not only will your cat or dog leave hairs all over it but their claws could also damage the fabric.

If you follow these simple guidelines then you should find that your duvet cover will stay in top shape for a much longer time
