Putting Together A Marketing Strategy

So, what do you need to do to start building a marketing strategy? If you currently own a business or are thinking of starting one up, odds are, you will need some information about how to spread the word out about your product/services.

With the internet being the main source of communications in the world today, it is natural that you will want to use this as a key focus for building your marketing strategy. With that being said I will be writing a list of articles each of which pertain to a different step in the marketing process; to teach you how to become a major player in your niche, by taking advantage of the world wide web and using online affiliate marketing as your marketing strategy's roots.

Now, before I can show you how to become a success online, I think its best to begin with a basic introduction to marketing. So in this introduction to becoming an online marketing affiliate, I am going to give you a basic explanation of what marketing really is, and how you can use it to maximize your revenue online.

Most people are aware of what marketing is, but most do not realize everything that it entails. Marketing is not a temporary thing. Marketing is more than sales. Marketing is a gradual and time consuming process:

1. Get your potential customer's attention

2. Motivate them to buy

3. Get them to buy

4. Get them to keep buying

Marketing is how you define your product, promote your product, distribute your product, and maintain a relationship with your customers. All of this is important if you want to operate a profitable business. When you become an online marketing affiliate, you gain access to a world of customers instead of just being available for a local customer base. It simply allows you to reach millions of potential customers instead of hundreds. With this kind of potential, is it any wonder that so many people are relying on the web as their marketing hub?

In order to get the consumer's attention, you will need to know who they are and where they are. When you use online affiliate marketing, you can cut some of that work in half. When you are an affiliate, a lot of your customers will find you. But its not that simple. You have to make it easy for your customers to find you. In order to do this you need to specify one main thing in which you will be targeting, and then market that niche specifically.

But how does one REALLY go about getting ones attention in the online marketplace. Well there are multiple avenues to go down depending on the money you are willing to spend, but for all intensive purposes lets just say that Google is the best way hands down for you to attract customers. If you have the capital and are willing to use it, you could invest some into the Google Adwords program, where your site will get top placements when customers search for terms relating to your site. If you don't have that option, you will have to being the long grueling process that we call Search Engine Optimization or SEO for short. I will touch more on the SEO side of marketing in my next article.
